Sunday Afternoon Drive

Sunshine & blue skies on a Sunday afternoon means a drive in the '66 Mustang. First drive after a long winter in storage so off we went to Portage.

Had a nice visit with my mom.

Spring dresses on the line made by Edna.
Artwork by Helen on another wall.
I did the quilted wall hanging. The picture of the farm house was painted by my aunt for mom.
Enjoying coffee & delicious homemade goodies made by sister Carolyn. Met some friends by chance & enjoyed supper with them. Great way to start our summer cruising season!

An Open Door

Finally!! Oh, yeah!! I can now open my front door & enjoy warm fresh air. This is a look out my front door now and the pile of brick are still waiting to be be put down on the driveway. Which will happen very soon. Bet you can't see it but I've got a screen door to keep out the bugs which will appear soon.
The " always looking for a job" carpenter installed this wonderful screen door which rolls up into an almost invisible storage on the left side.
Because I'm afraid of myself & grandkids running into the door, I threaded some bright yarn into the screen, so I won't forget it's there!
There - it's all rolled up & out of the way. I have always wanted a screen door but didn't want an extra door on the outside of the house. Sunshine & fresh air - love it!!

My Mother

My mom. She is going to be 97 years old next month. Precious, wonderful lady. She has taught me alot & I have learned alot from her. She is a great woman of faith. She loves her Lord. She is a servant serving her Lord.
My niece, Laura, visits her grandmother regularly. Here they were reading the Bible together.
This past year has been difficult for Mom. Giving up her home, moving into a care facility, struggling with some health issues but Mom's faith has remained strong & I know she depends on the Lord for her daily strength. She prays for her children & grandchildren & great grandchildren. Daily. She is a great example for all of us. I love her. I know that I am very blessed to still have my mom.

Proverbs 31:28 Her children rise up & call her blessed.

Creating my own Spring

For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over & gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come.                       Song of Solomon 2: 11 & 12

Millennia ago God promised that season would follow season ,
a promise we find in Gen. 8:27
"While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
and cold and heat,
and winter and summer,
and day and night
shall not cease!"

With our very delayed Spring here on the Prairies, I bought another bouquet of tulips to create my own spring season indoors. I try not to complain about the weather as I can't change it & I trust God's promise about the seasons. It will be an interesting week ahead as more snow is in the forecast.

No Spring Weather = More Time Spent Quilting

With no spring-like weather, snow banks on my yard where land-scaping is to happen, my sewing machine keeps on humming. I'm stocking up my baby quilt supply.
Babies keep being born to church families & each one gets a handmade quilt & I try to keep 3 or 4 on hand.
This quilt is for a young lady also from my church who is receiving cancer treatments.
I made this one with blues & browns.
This quilt is for The Agape Project, a local charity here in town.
This fabric was in a grab-bag & the pastel colours blended quite well.
Here I used some brighter colours with pastels.
Maybe I can get a few more done while waiting for spring here on the Prairies.
