The Unrau Siblings

This past weekend the UNRAU siblings got together. The above picture is of Albert - top left, then his brother, Ben from Winnipeg. Then Katherine Chornoboy, Albert's youngest sister from Pickering, ON. Bottom left - Ruth Thiessen, Winkler, MB. & Albert's oldest sister, Margaret Delgatty from Vancouver, BC.

Friday evening it was "Girl's Night Out". We met in Winnipeg & faithfully followed my GPS directions out to Pine Ridge Hollow. At least we thought that was where "Samantha" was taking us but the No. 1 Highway east is not where Pine Ridge Hollow is located so we turned around & after asking directions two times & following suggestions from my 4 co-drivers, I managed to arrive at the right place with a few minutes to spare - for shopping - before our dinner reservations. We all enjoyed the round about trip which should have been approx. 30 minutes which turned into an hour and a half!
Saturday lunch at Ruth & Dave's was watermelon & roll kuchen & then lots of fun & visiting in the afternoon. Supper at our house was farmer sausage, perogies & cream gravy & salads & desserts. What a great weekend with many new memories made to cherish.

Sunday Afternoon Cruise

Sunday afternoon Albert wanted to take his classic car out on a longer drive so we headed for Carman, a town about 30 minutes away. We toured the town, enjoyed some ice-cream & then leisurely came back to Winkler. Wherever we drive this car, we generate attention!

Take me out to the Ball Game!

We have been spending Tuesday & Thursday evenings watching our grandkids play ball. The weather has not been great for watching or playing ball. Many games have gotten canceled due to rain & wet grounds. My watching ball kit includes - lawn chair, water, as many blankets as I can carry, umbrella, mittens, snacks - to entertain grandkids, camera & spitz aka. sunflower seeds. And this week I added mosquito spray.

By Special Request

All of my grandkids love my cinnamon buns so today was the day to bake 3 cookie sheets of buns. The 4 grandkids that live 2 blocks from us, ate their fill & to the grandkids that are further away - I'll be sure to bake some for you too for the next time I see you.
There were a few that did make it into the freezer to enjoy another day.
