My Easter Weekend

Easter basket hunt this year consisted of searching for Easter treats amidst snow banks & only 3 out of 8 grandkids were around to take part.
Bite off the ears first!

Puffball - a much loved pet with owner - Carly.
Besides attending meaningful Good Friday & Easter morning services, I spent some time with my mom & sisters.
Sister Carolyn cutting a yummy lemon dessert.
From MacGregor, I went on to Brandon to spend some time with my sister, Carolyn. We spent some time browsing some unique boutiques & then went to The Green Spot greenhouse.
Rows of coleus just waiting for warm weather.
 Bright spots of spring flowers.
 Lots of lovely garden decor.
Spending time in the beautiful spot increased our yearning for spring & gardening time.

A Winter Outside & Spring Inside.

This was the view out our front door after the big snowstorm we had on Monday.

The view out of my sewing room is snow & more snow.
We took a little trip out to the country this afternoon. The view of white drifts of snow along the creek bottoms criss-crossed with animal tracks from across the meadow is a beautiful & peaceful scene but on March 21st?
We saw several deer & I got a few pictures.
One evening Albert counted 16 deer in this same area.
Today I bought some "spring" at the grocery store in the form of yellow tulips.

Yes, still learning different settings with my camera.

Bright!

I worked on this quilt during this winter & finished it a few weeks ago. I put it on our bed & decided that I quite liked it there so that is where it still is.
I used 10" squares & 2 1/2 jelly rolls of bright coloured batiks that I ordered online from Connecting Threads. This company has good prices for quilting supplies.
I use bright colours for the baby & kids quilts I sew but hadn't sewn a large quilt with such bright colours. It sure gives my bedroom lots of colour!

This Past Week in Pictures

Monday started out like this with a March blizzard!

We spent the week in the country with our grandchildren while their parents were away.

Saturday we made rainbow waffles & finished the sock monkeys we started earlier in the week.

These sock monkeys are brighter than the ones I made years ago out of men's work socks.
One morning we woke to hoarfrost that sparkled like thousands of diamonds on the trees.

Sledding down the hill of snow in the front yard.

Making a snow angel.
