Evening in "The Pits."

Grandson, Adam, began his first year of racing this "Slingshot" race car.
Goes about 40 -45 MPH.

Here Adam & his pit crew are testing the tire pressure.

This was taken at Devil's Lake Speedway. Adam's dad is usually in the pits too but had a wedding to attend so Albert & myself were his "pit crew."
Now, how cool is that to have your grandparents pit for you?
Well, I was mostly standing around & taking pictures.

Here is the start of Adam's race & I didn't get anymore pictures as I was videoing the race for Adam's parents to view. Adam won 4th as he did Friday evening also in Grand Forks. These cars are really fun to watch & the racer's ages are from 8 - 15 years old.
When I asked Adam if he was disappointed that he didn't win, he replied - "No, I want to win when my dad is watching."
What a tribute to his dad!

Spring Continued

These are "wave" pansies. Waiting to see how much they will "wave."

I have 3 pots like this in the front of my house. They are growing well.

Pot of succulents.

In my sunroom.

I received  this rose bush from my sister for my birthday & it is producing lovely blooms now.

Johnny jump-ups blooming too.

My dahlia plant is full of flowers again. Am enjoying how fast things are growing now.

Mom's Birthday Party

It was my Mom's 99th birthday on May 30. My 3 sisters & myself, together with our spouses brought lunch & celebrated  Mom's birthday at the care home where she lives now. We enjoyed quiche, salad & chocolate pie for lunch.

My youngest sister, Carolyn, had the wonderful idea of having communion together with Mom. Carolyn read some scripture & shared some meaningful thoughts.

Then my Mother asked us all to hold hands around the table & she prayed a beautiful prayer of blessing over all of us & all her family members.

Smiles!

My dear 99 year old Mom & myself.

Mom with her 4 daughters.

Mom with the boys.

Here we are, in birth order, from left to right with our husbands in the back row.
Was a very special day.
