Three Colourful Quilts

I've been working hard on reducing my fabric stash by cutting & sewing smaller pieces into 4-patch quilts for children.

Some ended up as interesting colour combinations & when sewn into a quilt, just about anything goes.

This pink/purple/ yellow turned out quite nicely.

For the backing, I used some butterfly fabric with the cream/purple/blues.

These 3 are going to support The Agape Project here in town.

Here I used up a variety of pink fabric for the binding. I have made a small dent in my fabric stash except I added to it again yesterday when I visited the local Fabricland & there were a few pieces that just caught my eye!

California Trip .... Part 5

Valentine's Day roses.

On our last full day in California was spent at Disneyland. This arch of flowers remained from Valentine's Day as we visited the day after.

The grounds are always well kept & the flowers beautiful.

 This was my choice of transportation while at California Adventure  & Disneyland.  Was a bit challenging to navigate in very crowded places but sure made it easy on my knees!

Goodbye California! It was great! Hope to come back again!

California Trip Part 4

  We spent 6 nights at a Vacation House where we spent alot of time in the backyard. We got to enjoy several noon lunches out on the patio.

On Wednesday, we went to California Adventure which is part of Disney. One of the rides we enjoyed was The Twilight Zone - Tower of Terror. The above picture is the hotel  lobby where we walked through for the ride.

The ride consists of being seat-belted in the "elevator" that takes you to different floors in the hotel & the elevator doors close & then there is a very fast ride up & down to different floors. You can tell by our various expressions that it was a fun ride!

We took a ride on the Mickey Mouse Ferris wheel.

We stayed for the evening show - "World of Color".

California Trip - Part 3

 The real ones were so fascinating!

 Bright Flamingos were out for a morning stroll.

 This ride several of us skipped out as we didn't want to get wet & get wet they did!

We all really enjoyed the show that featured the Killer Whales.

California Trip - continued..

 We took at trip on a whale watching boat but didn't see any whales.

 We saw an elephant seal eating shark.

We did see several dophins out on the ocean.It was hard to capture them when they were out of the water.

Our Trip to California

February 8 -17, 2013

During the next week or so, I'll post some pictures of our trip to California. I had forgotten the correct camera chord to download pictures onto my Ipad so was unable to update my blog with pictures so I decided to wait until I got home. 

Our son & his wife asked us if we would like to join them on a trip to California so what's not to like? So we said - yes, for sure. We drove to Fargo, ND & flew to Denver, CO & then to LA, California.
