First Taste of Spring

I harvested some fresh rhubarb today - April 27.
Made some of my grandkids favorite jam - Banana Rhubarb Jam
And then I made a Rhubarb Crisp for supper. Spring is well on it's way when the rhubarb is tall enough for picking. It was just barely out of the ground when we arrived home three weeks ago. Sure could use some rain here.

Carly Day

I treasure "one on one" days with my grandkids. Wednesday was a "Carly Day" & we went out for lunch to Gingerwood Lane & then a trip to the greenhouse to check out what we should plant this year. We finished with playtime at the playground. Another day put into the Memory Bank!

A Time to Plant

Road Trip

We made a road trip this past weekend to Minneapolis, MN. & asked friends to join us, which they willingly did. We visited "The Mall of America" & enjoyed a meal at the "Rainforest Cafe" which is my favorite stop at the mall. We had a short stop at the outlet mall at Albertville which included at "must stop" at "Bath & Body." On the way home, lunch at " Famous Dave's" in Fargo & "Starbucks" & "Cold Stone " in Grand Forks. A wonderful weekend!

To the Finish

I picked up my quilt from Jackie yesterday afternoon & now I'm working on attaching the binding. I want to get it done so I can show it at the Quilt show in Morden at the end of this month.

The Fabulous Prairies & Home

I was so happy to see the Prairies after 5 weeks of living in the mountains that even the boring hills of Saskatchewan looked good! We arrived home late Tuesday night, April 6 after 8890 kms. of travel & being away from home for 6 weeks & 2 days. We are very thankful for safe travels & good health & for the opportunity to help the needy.

Final Inspection

The "J" house was the last house of 10 that was built by MDS volunteers at the Dulzura camp. Albert & another volunteer put the finishing touches on it on Thursday, April 1st & the building inspected approved it that afternoon. It was a huge relief that it passed inspection as the last of the volunteers left on Friday. We left for home on Thursday & are happy to be on our way home. It was a very worthwhile experience.

Whining

Here's proof that concerned & caring family members acknowledged my whining about missing "Roll up the Rim" & mailed or brought me Tim Hortons!! I won a doughnut!! Yes!! Thanks ever so much!!

This is for you, Adam.

This is myself & Jimmie Johnson beside the NASCAR in which Jimmie won 2 championships.
