Trip West.

My cousin/travel buddy & myself left on a road-trip west on July 3rd. Our husbands graciously decided to stay home & (mine) water my garden & flowers.  (Some were over-watered so he certainly took the job very seriously!)

Our first stop for the night was in Herbert at a friend of Lois's & I fit in a short visit with my niece. Lovely little prairie town.

This was taken just west of Calgary,  Friday afternoon. Note the traffic going into Calgary for the stampede.

We stopped in Canmore for the night & ate at this restaurant.
Had seafood crepes, so delicious & went back the next morning for breakfast.

Always enjoy these Three Sisters mountains.

Can never enough of the blue-green water & the green trees with the amazing mountains in the back.

Our next stop was in Vernon, visiting our cousin Art & his wife Michelle who so graciously hosted us for a few days while we visited & relaxed.

We spent many hours on their deck, enjoying the view & the company.

We spent several hours at this orchard in Vernon, enjoying the many floral displays on the grounds, a tasty lunch & shopping in the store.

Then we drove to Red Deer, AB for 3 days
of wonderful gospel music.

On our way home, we encountered some strong winds & rain at Swift Current. However, it didn't last long & we ate supper while it rained & then continued to Herbert where we overnighted again.

Canola fields & blue skies with white puffy clouds are still one of my favourite prairie scenes.

June Garden

Am several weeks late in posting pictures of my June garden but want to show how much everything has grown in the last few weeks so these pictures come first. Planted my garden around the 23rd of May & it is growing very well.
Onions, dill, parsley, summer savoury & beans.

 Two tomato plants.

In this shady corner, are hostas, a mock orange shrub, impatients, a fern & some ground cover. This is a new planting spot so I'll see what grows best here.

Have found a great spot for begonias to flourish.

Have 3 of these in the front yard. Petunias never disappoint, they produce continues blooms all summer. Check back soon to see how much my garden grows.
