Visiting the Rockies Part 2

Driving onto the ferry at Kootenay Bay to cross the Kootenay Lake to Balfour. It was a free ferry crossing that took about 30 minutes. Beautiful sunny day.

We spent the night a a resort that overlooked the Kootenay Lake & we saw the ferry cross the lake several times.

At a rest stop where the lake was so still & clear that it looked like a mirror.

A clear mountain stream.

Another peaceful lake with fog in the valley.

And then we found this waterfall at rest stop.

Beautiful & majestic!

Here we are at Galena Bay waiting for another ferry.

Mountain streams caught my eye & always great for more pictures.

And more mountains.

Visting the Rockies - Part 1

Hubby & I went on a road trip to our majestic Canadian Rockies. Driving west & watching as the small hills become larger & then  the landscape changes  & suddenly, we're in the mountains.
We decided that we wanted to see more of Canada & have made an effort this summer to see more of Manitoba & we both wanted to spend some time in the Rockies.
This was taken just west of Cranbrook on a beautiful sunny morning.

Moyie Lake. The lake was so still & clear that the reflection of the mountain, the trees & clouds is just perfect.

At a rest stop.

Balfour, BC. We caught a ferry, the one above, to cross the Kootenany Lake.

At another rest stop.

At another lake where the clouds were quite low in the valley.

Small mountain stream with fall flowers & foliage.

Cedar boughs changing colour too.

Roadside wild flower.
More pictures to follow soon.

Summer Quilting

I enjoy quilting all year round & always have a project on the go or planning & preparing for another one.  During the hot weeks we had, I spent the day inside, enjoying the AC & sewing.

These 2 quilts, above & below, will be donated to the Agape Project.

The quilt in the above picture, was a special order for a little girl who loves cats.

And this one was for the Mom, who wanted to have her own quilt. I also worked on some smaller projects like potholders & microwave bowl holders.
