Red Deer

While we were in Red Deer, I found these beautiful gardens downtown, right by City Hall.

 As well as been beautiful, the aroma of the flowers was so sweet!

For 3 evenings, we enjoyed listening to some excellent Southern Gospel music sung by various artists. As I am still learning the functions on my camera, I took a few pictures during one evening.

 The Blue Collar Harmony Boys

These young men are from MacGregor & sang on the main stage Saturday evening. Good to see fresh young talent along with those who have been in the industry for a long time & do so full-time.

Very much enjoyed their "Celtic" flavour they added the Southern Gospel.

There were many others groups that we also very much enjoyed & we were thoroughly blessed & encouraged. The concerts are on for 3 days & go from 6 - 11 PM. plus morning & afternoon programs.

Olfert Cousins Gathering

 A gathering of cousins was graciously hosted by Pete & Kathi at Bentley. We enjoyed their beautiful patio area as well as a delicious lunch.

 We started off by enjoying warm sunshine throughout lunch & then it turned windy & cool.

 There was much to chat about.

We love an evening drive in the country & admiring the growing fields. 

A favourite sight - canola in bloom.

Lots of fields of beans on our area.

The corn loves the heat we are having as it produces lots of growth.

Rain would be very welcome now to help the crops fill out & grow.

Loved the contrast of the yellow with the green.

We passed the local Bible camp & looks like they were enjoying their activities! Not sure who will be doing the laundry!

 Canoeing seems like a cleaner option!

Gallery in the Park

Today I was in Altona watching a grandson play ball - they lost the first game, won the second & go back to play another game tomorrow. After the games, I went to view "Gallery in the Park" which is an art gallery & gardens.

 

 The flowers are just looking great.

I think this sculpture is called "The Three Gossips."

An interesting gallery to visit when you are in Altona, Manitoba.

Summer Time

 July 1st granddaughter, Katie & myself helped out at the carnival that is sponsored by our church in downtown Winkler. We did face painting from 4 - 6 PM & were very busy the whole time. Most requested were dog, cat & tiger faces.

July 3 we celebrated a teenager's birthday.

This is a view of the back of our house. The weeds belong to the lot behind us & this picture doesn't show how well our lawn is growing.

Graduation!

 June 25 was graduation day for our grandson, Jared.

 Receiving his diploma from  John Taylor Collegiate principal, Mr. Lockhart.
